Wondering how to get involved with the Guilds and utilize the many resources at your fingertips? From speaking your mind on interesting topics to working on collaborative projects, the following will help you make the most of your Guild experience.

1
Join a Guild to begin accessing all the resources available to students, alumni, and community members of Kalamazoo College! Be sure to create an account first, and then join one of the four Charter Guilds to get access to their resources.
2
Be sure to update your profile with up to date information and don't forget to let people know a little about you.
3
Interested in sharing your opinion? Participate in the discussions of all the main topics in each Charter Guild with the forums.
4
Create your own blogs from your profile. Just go to your profile, click on the blogs tab and make sure to publish to everyone before you post it.
5
Find out who's online! Send messages or chat with other members who are online at the same time as you. Just access this from the Who's Online box on the main page. Just be aware that that person may have just been online in the past 5 minutes, and does not always mean you'll get a quick reply.
6
As the Guilds continue to grow there will be more and more projects for members to work on. Collaborate on projects with other Guild Members using the Wiki activity. Propose new Wiki's by emailing Joan Hawxhurst with your ideas. Don't know how to work on a wiki? Go to the help index and scroll all the way to the bottom to find out.
7
Interested in leading a topic discussion? Become a Discussion Board moderator. This allows you to generate buzz about particular subjects. Contact Joan Hawxhurst with your inquiry.
8
Interested in sharing your experience with campus? Have an idea for a video conference? Or maybe want to take students on a tour of your job electronically? Propose a Webinar to get in contact with students on campus or other alumni interested in your field of expertise. Contact Joan Hawxhurst for specific details on getting this done.
9
Think you might have a good contact for professional networking? Set up an account on LinkedIn to access one of the most comprehensive professional networks on the web! Don't forget to join the Kalamazoo College Guilds Group in order to establish connections with similar interests!
10
Have any other ideas? Tell us what you'd like to see on the website or as an event for the Guilds.
11
Don't forget to tell other alumni about the Guilds and get other people involved!
